Selon Libération, qui donne l'information, l’affaire a débuté par l’interpellation de trois responsables municipaux, entendus au commissariat de Yamatogne puis déférés au parquet. Sept autres agents ont ensuite été arrêtés et placés en garde à vue. Ils devraient être présentés au procureur ce mardi, avant un éventuel transfert à la Maison d’arrêt et de correction de Ziguinchor.
Le maire serait-il impliqué ? D’après une source interne à la mairie citée par le journal, ces agents auraient agi sur instruction du maire Djibril Sonko. Ce dernier, ainsi que son chargé des affaires juridiques, M. Niang, contactés par Libération, ont refusé de commenter l’affaire.
L’enquête est toujours en cours, et aucun des agents n’avait encore bénéficié de l’assistance d’un avocat au moment des faits rapportés, précise la même source.
