Dans un message repris par Source A, le président de la Fédération sénégalaise de football (FSF), Augustin Senghor, a rendu un hommage appuyé à l’ancien promoteur de lutteur Gaston Mbengue. Ce dernier est décédé ce mercredi 1er mai à 73 ans. «À côté de sa famille, du monde de la lutte et bien d’autres secteurs où son charisme était remarquable, le football sénégalais pleure notre doyen Salif Mebngue dit Gaston ! Un homme de bien, un homme véridique et au service de sa communauté et son pays. Condoléances à toute sa famille. Que le Tout-Puissant lui réserve le meilleur accueil dans son Paradis !»
