Un étudiant en langue arabe a sauvagement tué son père commerçant âgé de 65 ans. Son modus operandi : il a asséné une bonbonne de gaz sur la tête de son père qui a succombé à ses blessures. Le corps sans vie a été découvert par les membres de la famille, qui se sont précipités dans la véranda après avoir entendu un bruit assourdissant.
Les faits se sont produits au village de Peul Dios, dans la commune de Diama, à Saint-Louis vers 15 heures de l'après-midi.
Selon L'Observateur qui donne l'information, le présumé tueur avait pris la fuite dans la forêt du village après avoir commis son forfait. Mais avec l'efficacité des hommes en bleu, il a fini par être appréhendé suite à une longue course-poursuite. Selon la même source, l'étudiant a une fois été condamné à 3 mois de prison pour coups et blessures volontaire au préjudice de son frère qu'il avait assommé avec une brique.
