Une jeune fille du nom de Gnagna Sarr s’est noyée dans le fleuve de Ndioum situé dans le département de Podor. La victime âgée de 20 ans était en vacance, selon Rewmi Quotidien, elle est venue à Ndioum durant le mois de ramadan avec ses frères. Touchée par la forte canicule qui sévit dans le nord du pays, Gnagna Sarr en compagnie de ses camarades, est allée se baigner au fleuve.
Une excursion qui a viré au drame. Alertés par les cris de panique des autres enfants, les pêcheurs traditionnels se sont lancés à la recherche de la jeune fille. Quelques minutes plus tard ils réussissent à retrouver le corps sans vie de la jeune fille.
Le corps sans vie a été déposé au centre hospitalier régional de Ndioum.
