Un accident tragique s'est produit dimanche vers 18h30 sur l'autoroute en construction reliant Mbour, Fatick et Kaolack, près du village de Thiacalar, dans la commune de Khelcom Birame, département de Guinguinéo.
Un véhicule Caterpillar 140k, une niveleuse appartenant à la société China Railway Design Corporation (CRDC) et conduite par Pape Ousmane Camara, a heurté mortellement Zhang Zhen, un ressortissant chinois qui se trouvait derrière l'engin pendant une manœuvre de recul.
La victime de nationalité chinoise, effectuait des opérations de contrôle sans que le conducteur en ait connaissance. Malheureusement il a été tuée sur le coup, selon Rewmi Quotidien. Alertés, les agents de la Brigade Polyvalente de Fass se sont rendus sur les lieux pour procéder aux constatations d'usage.
Le corps sans vie a été transporté à la morgue de l'hôpital El Hadji Ibrahima NIASSE de Kaolack par les sapeurs-pompiers.
