L’hôtel » Les Palétuviers » sis à Cap Skirring et construit en 1944, a été emportée par les flammes ! L’incendie est survenu dans la nuit de lundi à mardi, vers 4 heures du matin. Malgré les dégâts matériels importants, aucune vie en perte humaine n’a été signalée.
Le feu est lié à un court-circuit. L’hôtel » Les Palétuviers » à été complètement réduite en cendres. Un feu perçu sur le toit en pailles des chambres a vite pris de l’ampleur. D’après le récit de Libération, le décor était indescriptible et choquant : des paillottes embrasées, des flammes gigantesques léchant le toit vitré du hall principal, et des bâtiments complètement noyés dans la fumée.
Tout le personnel et les clients de l’hôtel réduit en cendres ont été évacués sous les yeux impuissants du propriétaire, indique ce journal.
